We have been married for over 25 years, had the usual challenges everyone faces and have come out the other side stronger and hopefully wiser. Our children are independent; Kate is at the University of Tasmania studying to be a teacher and Alex, is studying viticulture part time via distance through Charles Sturt University whilst assisting in the management of the vineyard.
Glenn’s background is in retail and wholesale liquor and Sandy’s is in pharmacy. Whilst we have owned our own business and worked together for almost 20 years we have no background in agriculture. We do, however, have a passion to run our businesses in the most professional way we know how. We try to put ourselves in the shoes of our customers and give them a product that we are happy with.
Sandy volunteers with the Tasmanian Ambulance Service. Sandy cross the T’s and dots the I’s, no short cuts allowed! Hopefully you can taste this in the wines.
Glenn looks after the financial side of our business.
Kate is our social media expert and looks after our Instagram and Facebook accounts. This is crucial given we have no idea how to drive social media.
Alex has commenced a viticulture degree. His growing skills and knowledge are invaluable. He also volunteers with the local Tasmanian Fire Service brigade and SES.
Sandy’s Dad, Alan is also a regular worker in the vineyard. He is happy to do anything, and is the reason our vineyard usually looks so beautiful.
In addition to this regular help from family we are also very grateful for the locals who come and pick our grapes each year and to Peter and Gill who assist with pruning.
Marty Smith, from Absolute Viticulture is a constant source of technical advice.
